MT. RAINIER -  A NON-OPTIMISTIC LOOK ON CLIMATE CHANGE

Both photos shown here are taken four years apart during the month of August. The first one, most recent, with most of the ice melted off due to the summer heat waves in the Pacific Northwest. The smoke like texture that meet the sky are the active evaporation of the ice cap. The second taken in August 2017 still shows greenery near the top and a much more significant snow presence. The following photos are the current state of the mountain and surroundings, taken end of August 2021.
